There are several ways to report hazardous weather conditions such as hail, wind damage, funnel clouds, tornadoes, exceptionally heavy rainfall or flash flooding:
1. Call the Huntsville WFO at 256-890-8503
2. SKYWARN® storm spotters also have an unlisted phone number to the Huntsville WFO.
3. Submit your report online at Submit a Storm Report
4. During and after the event, email reports to SR-HUN.Spotter@noaa.gov
5. Submit an
eSpotter
Report to NWS, Huntsville WFO
(requires pre-registration and training)
Key Components of a Spotter Report
a. Your name (and whether you are a NWS-trained storm spotter)
b. Your location (including nearest cross streets)
c. Location of hazardous weather
d. Type of hazardous weather
e. Time of hazardous weather
f. Duration of hazardous weather
g. Contact information
