August 30th Update

Keith Fukumitsu of the TVUC has completed the two-line reformat of The Alabama Uke Fest Singalong Book.

A separate web page has been created with links to individual song sheets in both the one-line and two-line formats, plus links to YouTube performances of these songs, and a few notes: The Alabama Uke Fest Singalong Book.

August 27th Update

Pete McCarty's The_Alabama_Uke_Fest Singalone Book for 2019 has been posted. Also see this web page with individual song sheet links, links to YouTube, and a few notes:

August 26th Update

It was determined that we sing "I Am A Pilgrim" better in the key of G than in the key of C. So, Keith have provided us with a new song sheet: I Am a Pilgrim-UF19-v4 (August 25, 2019).

A reminder that we've taken the "Whoa" out of the last verse of "What A Wonderful Life." No new sheet music needed, just a pen or pencil.

For the picnic on Thursday, Sept. 5, there are NO chairs, NO music stands, and NO PA system, so we will have to bring our own chairs and music stands, and sing LOUD! Also, we'll want our music in protective sheets in a binder. Finally, we'll also play "Sitting on Top of the World."

Also, please wear your name tag as well as your "school colors," a UkeQuestor T-shirt, or a Hawaiian shirt or muumuu (as opposed to a "mumu," a ghost or monster in Philippine mythology, according to Wikipedia).

The notice in the last LQ Newsletter provide some additional details, and there are notes about the venue at the bottom of this page.

For Ukefest:

August 25th Update

Keith has provided our versions of the two RSVP Ukesters songs and a version of Kirk Jones' Proud Mary music with chord diagrams and some added play notes.

August 16th Update

Keith has updated Saturday's "Strumming In the Round" songs to change the ending of "All Shook Up" to match the UBA page.

He has also converted the two play along songs for UBA to our format: Ukulele Band of Alabama Music-UF19-TVUC.

August 11th update:

We will be performing a "Dress Rehearsal" of our Alabama Uke Fest_2019 Playlist on September 5 at the Learning Quest picnic in the Pavilion at the Green Mountain Nature Trail Park. The picnic begins at 11 am; we are scheduled to play at 11:45. There are additional details below.

July 28th update:

Because of a rules change, our Playlist has been trimmed to five songs (plus one backup). The five songs will be, in order:

Here are all the songs that we will be playing for the Alabama Ukulele Festival on September 7th at Lake Guntersville: Alabama Uke Fest_2019 (Version 4 in PDF, August 25, 2019). A gentle reminder that home practice is essential if we're going to sound our best. Just 15 minutes a day will keep those fingers, strings, and voices ready for the performance.

We will not meet on September 1 or September 8. As of August 26, there is just last "dress rehearsal" before the Ukefest:

The songs that didn't make the cut have been added to the Individual Songs webpage.

Music is available for the Friday Night Share and Strum and for the Saturday Strumming In The Round. See the Alabama Uke Fest Music web page and the links below.

Share and Strum

There are now 24 songs posted at the Uke Fest 2019 website for Friday night's event. All the songs plus YouTube links are on a new page for this event: Share & Strum (as of Sept. 6).
